About the Role
The Administration and Events Support Officer supports the delivery of the Melbourne Professional Education (MPE) portfolio, working collaboratively with the project team and stakeholders. This role encompasses a range of administrative responsibilities, including enquiry management, financial transactions, travel arrangements, and contract administration, while ensuring high-quality customer service. The incumbent will develop a thorough understanding of MPE priorities, relationships, and projects to effectively contribute to the team’s success.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing general administrative support, including arranging building access, IT setup, ordering stationery, and course set up in a CRM.
- Managing financial tasks such as processing invoices, reimbursements and reconciling purchasing cards.
- Responding to enquiries, and providing support to key stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and assistance.
- Assisting with event management, including coordinating logistics, liaising with service providers, attendance at teaching deliveries, and evaluating events to recommend improvements.
Who we are looking for
You will have well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation. You will bring demonstrated experience in providing administrative support, coordinating high-quality events and programs, and delivering exceptional customer service. Your ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, work both independently and as part of a team, and apply strong organisation and time management skills will be key to your success in this role.
You will also have:
- Completed a diploma-level qualification with relevant work experience, or a certificate-level qualification combined with work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- A high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
