You will have the opportunity to provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Strategic Communications at the University of Melbourne. In this fast-paced role, you'll manage a dynamic office environment, coordinate important meetings, and contribute to the University's strategic messaging efforts. You'll gain valuable experience in university administration and communications while working in a reactive department that demands flexibility and calm under pressure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage Director's Office: Coordinate appointments, handle correspondence, and prepare documentation to support efficient time management.
- Provide Administrative Support: Draft correspondence, manage expenditures, arrange travel, and support recruitment processes.
- Offer Secretariat Services: Provide high-level support to Boards and Committees, including minute-taking and follow-up actions.
- Foster Key Relationships: Develop effective working relationships with senior University personnel and external clients.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a resilient, confident and proactive professional with excellent organisational skills, able to handle sensitive information discreetly and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You may also:
- Have substantial experience in high-level executive support roles.
- Possess excellent communication skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, diplomacy, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Be action-oriented with a calm demeanour and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Have experience in university administration or the tertiary education sector (desirable).
